[…] Spell-O-Matic is a very clever re-working of a Hen Fetsch idea from the 40s (which was itself updated in the 80s by Ken de Courcy). The deck itself does all the work for you – all you need to be able to do is to cut the deck! It would also be very helpful if you can do a convincing false shuffle. One is taught online – or you could do a lot worse than to take a look at the False Shuffles and Cuts Project (you can read our review here). […]

[…] Some set-up is involved, but the setup gives you what is, in effect, an incredibly fair looking force. It is essentially self-working, though the ability to give a false shuffle or cut makes it even stronger (a false shuffle is very briefly explained on the DVD – but if you want to go into more detail on these techniques we highly recommend the False Shuffles and Cuts Project).
